K-Beauty Intel exists to make Korean skincare easier to compare on evidence, not hype. We track real retail prices, calculate what products actually cost per milliliter, research ingredients against retailer listings and dermatology resources, and separate confirmed Korean-market signals from Western social buzz.
Korean skincare is one of the most saturated categories in beauty. Search almost any concern and you get hundreds of near-identical options and a flood of content that mostly restates manufacturer copy. We focus on the specific, unglamorous details that actually determine whether a product works for you: does it leave a white cast, how long it takes to sink in, whether it pills under sunscreen, and what it actually costs once a 50 mL bottle is compared honestly against a 70 mL one from a different brand.
Who this is for
K-Beauty Intel is for anyone comparing Korean sunscreens, serums, moisturizers, or cleansers and trying to work out which one is worth buying. That includes people new to Korean skincare who want a plain-language starting point. It also includes people who already know the category and want real price-per-mL numbers and ingredient detail instead of another listicle.
How we separate evidence
We treat price, ingredients, evidence status, and Korean-market signals as different kinds of information, not one blended trust claim. A product's price-per-mL is a fact. An Olive Young Award is a Korean purchase-volume signal. A "Research-based" label means the assessment comes from documented sources, not personal use. Keeping these separate is what lets you see what we actually know, rather than a single confidence score standing in for all of it. Prices are checked across Amazon, YesStyle, and Stylevana on a rolling basis. Each one is shown as cost per milliliter, so a small expensive bottle and a large cheap one are actually comparable. Ingredient claims start from a brand's own listed ingredients, cross-checked against retailer pages. For anything that needs more context than the brand's own marketing copy provides, we pull from dermatology resources and published ingredient research. We're also building out hands-on testing, starting with sunscreens. Until a product has been through that process, its page is built from the research described above, not personal use.
Who's behind this
K-Beauty Intel is an independently operated publication. Editorial decisions, including which products get covered and how comparisons are evaluated, are made in-house and never outsourced. We aren't a storefront and we aren't affiliated with any of the brands we cover.
